Hybrid Scenario

The Hybrid Scenario combines several elements from the Grid and Radial Scenarios by adding several north-south and east-west routes while continuing to emphasize downtown service. This Hybrid Scenario includes improved connections in northeast OKC and south OKC and includes a high speed express route between downtown OKC and the airport.

High frequency service, every 15-minutes or better, would be provided on:

  • Northwest BRT

  • 23rd Street Corridor

  • Revised Route 013 between OCCC - Downtown - OU Health Center

New more direct service would be provided on:

  • South 44th Street

  • MacArthur Boulevard

  • May Avenue

The Hybrid Scenario would serve approximately:

  • 350,000 people (37% increase from today)

  • 156,000 low-income people (23% increase from today)

  • 260,000 jobs (18% increase from today)

  • 66,000 people within walking distance of 15-minute service

Route Changes
  • Route 002 would be replaced with a revised Route 003. This route would no longer directly serve downtown OKC, but instead extend to the Belle Isle Walmart and NW Expressway. All areas currently served by Route 002 would continue to have service. Route 002 would allow direct transfers to high frequency service on Route 013 and Route 023.

  • Route 003 would be revised to provide service between the Belle Isle Walmart and Penn Square Mall area along NE 50th St. The Adventure District area would continue to be served by a revised Route 022. Route 003 would no longer directly serve downtown OKC. A 1/2 mile segment of NE 50th St between N Prospect Ave and N Martin Luther King Ave would no longer be served in this scenario. Route 003 would allow direct transfers to high frequency service on Route 013, Route 023, and NW BRT.

  • Route 005 would be replaced by a combination of the NW BRT route and a revised Route 008. The segments of Western Ave and Classen Blvd between downtown OKC and NW Expressway would operate with higher frequency service, every 15 minutes. The 1 mile segment of W Memorial Rd between Clearbrook Rd and N Pennsylvania Ave would no longer have service.

  • Route 007 would be revised and extended to provide direct north-south service along N May Ave corridor between Quail Springs Mall, Baptist Integris, OCCC, and the Portland Ave Amazon Fulfillment Center. The route would deviate onto NW 59th St, N Independence Ave, and NW 50th St to provide direct service to Baptist Integris and would extend further south on May Ave to SW 104th St and S Portland Ave. Route 007 would no longer provide service into downtown OKC. The segment operating on Linwood Blvd and Western Ave near downtown OKC would no longer be served. All other segments of the existing Route 007 would continue to have service. Route 007 would allow direct transfers with high frequency service on Route 013 and Route 023.

Frequency TablesV3_Hybrid.png
  • Route 008 would be revised to provide more direct, north-south service between downtown OKC, the Belle Isle Walmart, and Quail Springs Mall along N Western Ave, W Hefner Rd, N Pennsylvania Ave, Quail Springs Pkwy, and W Memorial Rd, replacing service currently provided by Route 005. Service on NW 63rd St and Lyrewood Ln would continue to be served by a new Route 063 which would extend further west to serve the Council Rd Walmart. Route 008 would now operate bi-directionally on Virginia St, 2nd St, Douglas St, and 4th St into downtown OKC. Segments operating on 3rd St and Linwood Blvd near downtown OKC, the deviations to Baptist Integris along N May Ave, SW 59th St, N Independence Ave, and N Tulsa Ave, as well as service on NW Expressway and N MacArthur Blvd would no longer have service. All other segments currently served by Route 008 would continue to be served in this scenario. Route 008 would allow direct transfers with high frequency service on Route 023.

  • Route 009 - The alignment of Route 009 would be unchanged in this scenario. â€‹

  • Route 010 would be realigned to operate on NW 10th St, Villa Ave, NW 16th St, and N Portland Ave to Baptist Integris, avoiding the most congested areas of 16th St near the Plaza District. The route would terminate at Baptist Integris and no longer operate the terminal loop on NW 50th St, N Meridian Ave, and NW 36th St. These segments of NW 50th St and N Meridian Ave would be served bi-directionally by a new MacArthur Route (shown as Route M) but the relatively low ridership segment of NW 36th St would no longer be served.

  • Route 011 would be replaced with a combination of revised Routes 012, 014, 016 and new Routes 029 and 044. There would no longer be service on S Grand Blvd south of 20th St, SW 25th St between S Grand Blvd and S May Ave, SE 29th St between S Robinson Ave and S High Ave, S High Ave. All other segments currently served by Route 011 would continue to have service. This shared alignment would allow direct transfers to high frequency service on Route 013.

  • Route 012 would be unchanged north of SW 25th St. The route would be realigned to replace service currently provided by Route 011 on SW 25th St, S May Ave, SW 20th St, S Grand Blvd, SW 17th St, and would then operate on S Portland Ave and SW 74th St to OCCC. A small segment of S Agnew Ave between SW 25th St and SW 29th St would no longer be served. All other segments currently served by Route 012 would continue to have service.

  • Route 013 would be improved to provide 15 minute service frequency and would be revised to provide more direct service between OCCC and downtown OKC. The route would no longer operate on SW 74th St and would instead serve SW 59th St between S May Ave and S Western Ave. Route 013 would also operate on Main St in downtown OKC instead of on SW 3rd St and SW 4th St. The route would no longer deviate to serve Shartel Ave and would extend north of downtown OKC on Hudson Ave and NW 13th St to the OU Health Center, replacing service currently provided by Routes 002 and 003.  These improvements would create a faster, more direct, high frequency north-south service through the south end of OKC, downtown OKC, and the OU Health Center.

  • Route 014 would be simplified to operate on S Robinson Ave, deviating to serve Andrews Square, SE 25th St, S Central Ave, and SE 15th St, replacing service currently provided by Route 011. The route would extend further east on SE 15th St to terminate at the 15th St Walmart in Del City, allowing transfers with Route 015, Route 044, and the Midwest City On-Demand Zone. There would no longer be service on the relatively low ridership segments of S Shields Blvd or the deviation into Crossroads Mall on SE 66th St, Crossroads Blvd, SE 59th St, and S Eastern Ave. This improvement provides a faster, more direct connection on the southeast side of OKC and provides service to new destinations in Del City.

  • Route 015 would be simplified to operate along the same alignment into and out of downtown OKC on I-235, serve the SE 15th St Walmart, Rose State College, Midwest City High School, and terminate at St. Anthony Hospital - Midwest. Service would be removed from SE 15th St, N Midwest Blvd, NE 10th St, S Douglas Blvd, and E Reno Ave between N Midwest Blvd and S Douglas Blvd. Service would also be removed from the Tinker Diagonal and SE 29th St near I-40. All areas with removed service would continue to be served by an on-demand zone which would provide additional connectivity within Del City, Midwest City, and Spencer.  Route 015 would operate hourly.

  • Route 016 would be largely unchanged in this scenario. Rather than operate the terminal loop on SW 87th St, S Kentucky Ave, SW 89th St, and S Pennsylvania Ave, the route would continue on SW 89th St, S Walker Ave, and SW 74th St providing a direct connection to the Brookwood shopping center and Walmart.

  • Route 018 would be largely unchanged south of I-44. The route would continue to operate on N Kelley Ave and E Britton Rd as it does today but would be extended further west and north on E Britton Rd, N Western Ave, Pawnee Dr, and Highland Park Dr to provide direct service to the Pennsylvania Ave Walmart and Quail Springs Mall. Service currently provided by Route 018 on NE 63rd St would now be provided by a revised Route 022. Service would no longer be provided on Service Rd. All other areas currently served by Route 018 would continue to be served.

  • Route 019 would be replaced with a new on-demand zone serving Spencer, Midwest City, and Del City. Passengers within this zone would be able to arrange for a trip using a mobile phone application or dedicated call in number that will provide transportation to and from anywhere within that zone. Access to Spencer would be through a transfer on Route 015.

  • Route 022 would not change between downtown OKC and the County Health Department, but would extend west on NE 63rd St, N Western Ave, and N Classen Blvd to the Belle Isle Walmart, enabling transfers with the high frequency service provided on the NW BRT route.

  • Route 023 would be improved to provide 15 minute service frequency.  All areas currently served by Route 023 would continue to be served and would have improved service frequency, operating every 15 minutes. This would create a faster, more direct, high frequency service between downtown OKC and west OKC.

  • Route 024 would be unchanged in this scenario.

  • Route 038 would be unchanged in this scenario.

  • Route 040 would be extended further south along Santa Fe Ave, NE 12th St, Broadway St, and 19th St to provide service to the City of Moore and the shopping centers located adjacent to 19th St and I-35. The route would no longer operate a terminal loop on SW 104th St, S Western Ave, SW 89th St, and S Walker Ave.

New Routes
  • Route 029 is a new route providing service between downtown OKC and the Reno Mini Hub through south OKC. The route would operate every 30 minutes along S Robinson Ave, SE 29th St, S Portland Ave, SW 15th St, Meridian Ave, and E Reno Ave. This route replaces service currently provided by Route 011.

  • Route 044 is a new route that provides a direct east-west connection between the 15th St Walmart in Del City and the Reno Mini Hub. The route would operate every 30 minutes along Sooner Rd, 59th St, Sunnylane Rd, 44th St, Portland Ave, 29th St, Meridian Ave, and Reno Ave. The route replaces service currently provided by Route 011, Route 012, and Route 014.

  • Route 063 is a new route providing direct east-west service between the Belle Isle Walmart and the Walmart located near Council Rd and NW Expressway. The route operates along Belle Isle Blvd, NW Expressway, and Pennsylvania Ave before continuing along 63rd St, Lyrewood Lane, and operating a terminal loop along Wilshire Blvd, Council Rd, NW Expressway, and Rockwell Ave. The route replaces service currently provided by Route 008, and extends service to serve additional key employment hubs on NW Expressway.

  • Route A is a new express service that provides a direct connection between downtown OKC, Bricktown, the Amtrak Station, the Oklahoma City Convention Center, and Will Rogers Airport. The route would operate along S Shields Blvd, Oklahoma City Blvd, S Robinson Ave, I-40, I-44 and Meridian Ave to the airport. Route A would continue to serve the warehouse and fulfillment center employment hubs near Council Rd and the Reno Mini Hub by operating on SW 54th St, S MacArthur Blvd, SW 44th St, Council Rd, and W Reno Ave.

  • Route M is a new route providing a direct connection between Baptist Integris and the Reno Mini Hub along 50th St, Meridian Ave, 36th St, MacArthur Blvd, and Reno Ave. The route replaces service currently provided by Route 008 and Route 010. This route would provide a new, direct connection between two key travel centers and employment hubs on the west side of OKC without requiring travel into downtown OKC to transfer.

  • On-Demand Zones - Two new on-demand zones are proposed in the MacArthur Blvd area (generally between NW Expressway, N Rockwell Ave, W Memorial Rd, and N Meridian Ave) and the Midwest City-Spencer area (generally between SE 29th St, S Westminster Rd, NE 23rd St, Harper St, NE 36th St, N Hiwassee Rd, and NE 50th St). Customers may request rides to and from anywhere within these zones using a mobile phone application or dedicated call in number.
